Calling all Choir Alumni
We would like to recognize our first round (continued) of October Positive Office Referrals for the 25-26 School Year. The following students have displayed one of the five characteristics of the district Portrait of a Ram (Adaptability, Communicating Effectively, Critical Thinking, Integrity, Responsibility). We want to recognize these students for their actions in making USHS an amazing school. Jordan A showed the ability to communicate effectively by helping a fellow student to understand and feel better about a situation. MH (not pictured) showed Integrity by being very helpful in Spanish class this year. Lily T showed the ability to Adapt and Grow by helping a fellow student even though she was not having a good day. Leonard M showed the ability to Communicate Effectively by working with a classmate and occasionally do a "check on" on them to make sure they were successful. Kenzie L showed Responsibility by helping a teacher to clean her classroom. Marin N showed Integrity by picking up trash and throwing it away in the hallway.

Alessa Z showed Integrity as she volunteered to help a new student find their way to picture retakes. Eric S has shown the ability to Communicate Effectively in his novel studies class this year. Parker R showed Integrity by holding the door for teachers as they were entering the building in the morning. Wyatt J showed Integrity by cleaning up a mess in the cafeteria that he did not make. This is YOUR responsibility. IF THE MEDICATION IS NOT AT SCHOOL WITH DR. ORDERS, WE CAN NOT GIVE IT. The USHS Athletic Department would like to send a very special CONGRATULATIONS to Junior Shiloh Shasteen who earned her 100th point of her soccer career over the weekend. Shiloh, a dual-sport student-athlete, registered a goal and an assist at Ft. Jennings on Saturday which puts her at #6 all time with 102 points (45 goals, 12 assists). She also becomes only the 8th player in Lady Rams Soccer history to reach the 100 point mark. What an amazing accomplishment for Shiloh as only a Junior. Ram Nation is so proud of Shiloh's athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how she represents our community on and off the pitch. Congratulations again Shiloh!

Many families are signed up to receive free breakfast and lunch for this school year! However, our records show that there are 36 families that will no longer receive free meals starting today because they have not been approved for free/reduced price meals for the 25/26 school year and still need to submit an application. A letter was sent on September 15th to notify families that their application from last year will expire today. Completing an application is fast and easy! Go to PaySchools Central or go to the district website; Menu>Food Services>About Food Services> Pay School Central. Or ask for a paper copy from any school office. Do not delay! Any meals charged cannot be reversed after an application is approved. Thank you for choosing school meals!

Arielle O'Flaherty's NHS project is a fundraiser to support Deb Berger, a staff member at both USMS and USHS, who is valiantly fighting cancer. One way she is raising funds is through the sale of t-shirts. The plan is to wear them to school on Friday, October 17, and to the football game against Colonel Crawford.
