Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools

The USHS Varsity Swim teams completed their regular season schedule this past weekend at the Gipe Relays hosted by Port Clinton High School. Both teams finished 7th overall on the day. Some of the top performances included:
3rd - Girls 850 Relay Crescendo (Enriquez, Barth, Conley, Ault, 11:23.63)
3rd - Girls 200 Back Relay (Conley, Field, Enriquez, Dishon, 2:39.83)
3rd - Boys 200 Free Underwater Relay (Leightey, Minehart, Plymale, Bacon, 1:57.42)

Both team begin their postseason swims on Saturday, February 14 at the DII Sectionals hosted by the Lima YMCA. Good luck swim team!

The USHS Athletic Department would like to send a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Josh H. who officially signed his letter of intent on Monday to continue his baseball career at Heidelberg University next season. One of USHS's most versatile student-athletes, Josh has the opportunity to excel at the collegiate level and we are excited to watch him continue to shine as a Student Prince. Ram Nation is extremely proud of Josh's athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how he represents our school and community off the field of play. Congratulations Josh on a superb career and thank you for everything you have done for USHS athletics.

CONGRATULATIONS to the USHS Lady Rams Bowling team who were champions of the NOBL Tournament Championship this past Saturday at Bowlero Lanes in Fostoria. The Lady Rams were paced by Freshman Melanie Bowen who was 1st place overall with a score of 528. Sophomore Brynn Routzahn was 3rd place overall with a 512 score. Another weekend, another piece of hardware for the Lady Rams. The Lady Rams will be in action today at home against New Riegel at 4:00 PM.

SPECIAL EVENTS UPCOMING

The USHS Athletic Department would like to remind Ram Nation of two very special events coming up this week that you don't want to miss. First, tonight's home boys basketball game against Colonel Crawford will be our Teacher/Staff Appreciation Night where we will be recognizing and honoring our fantastic staff members of USEVS for their dedication to our student-athletes. We will also be recognizing a few select teachers who our special to our Senior student-athletes. All teachers and staff are admitted free tonight. Just bring your badge and come let us recognize you. This event will take place at the conclusion of the JV contest. Hope to see you there.

Additionally, at tomorrow night's (1/30) home girls basketball game against Seneca East, we will be recognizing and honoring our 1996 Lady Rams Basketball State Runner-Up team. There will be a small reception and meet and greet in the USHS cafeteria starting around 5:30 PM with the recognition ceremony starting at the conclusion of the JV game. Several of our Lady Ram alumni and coaches from that memorable team will be back so make sure you stop on by "The Barn" tomorrow night to help us recognize the 30th anniversary of that amazing run. Tell your friends.

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to several Ram bowlers who earned All-Conference Honors this season. In only their second year of existence, the Rams also had five student-athletes recognized for their season efforts. Freshman Bryson Stoneburner (182.0 average) earned 1st Team All-N10 honors. Junior Rowen Kennedy (176.4) and Sophomore Clayton Bowen (170.6) earned 2nd Team All-N10 honors while Senior Afton Green (169.7) and Sophomore Wyatt Barrett (166.7) both earned Honorable Mention honors. Great acknowledgement on a great season for these gentlemen. Ram Nation is proud of these accomplishments but even more proud of how these gentlemen represent our community outside of the alley. Congratulations again.

In only their second year of existence, the Lady Rams had five student-athletes recognized for their season efforts. Freshman Melanie Bowen (162.3 average) and Sophomores Brynn Routzahn (160.2), Lily Swartz (151.7), and Michaelynn Hill (148.6) all earned 1st Team All-N10 honors while Senior Aleah McCann (133.4) earned Honorable Mention honors. Coach Paul Mates was also named the Co-Coach of the Year in the N10 this season. What a truly amazing season for these ladies. Ram Nation is so incredibly proud of these accomplishments but even more proud of how these ladies represent our community outside of the alley. Congratulations again.
