Introducing the USHS Athletics Trophy Recycling Program The USHS Athletic Department in conjunction with the USHS Athletic Boosters, have begun a renovation of the gymnasium/cafeteria area of the high school in order to make the area more aesthetically pleasing and to update and upgrade the many athletic accomplishments currently being displayed in these areas. Currently, the areas mentioned are congested with large trophy cases which contain a significant amount of trophies that are several years old. The purpose of this project is to create additional space for current athletic accomplishments while still honoring the past achievements of our USHS student-athletes. In order to accomplish this purpose, the USHS Athletic Department is implementing a trophy recycling program as well as a digital “library” of past athletic accomplishments with the intention of creating more space. The trophy recycling program will remove any trophy from the cases that are over four years old from the current athletic year. These trophies will be available to community members for an auction style donation to the athletic department. The bidding will be closed after a week’s period of time and the highest bidder after that period will receive the trophy. This will allow the trophies to remain within our community rather than being destroyed. Before a trophy is “retired”, it will be cataloged into an “Athletic Excellence” database where it will be displayed digitally on a TV monitor in the lobby of the gymnasium for those who wish to view our rich athletic history. Trophies will be on physical display in the trophy cases for a period of four years before being “retired” via this recycling program. This program will exclude significant athletic awards such as State and Regional Tournament appearances and other designated accomplishments determined by the athletic department. These accomplishments will also be cataloged in the database. The intention of this program is to create more space in the gymnasium, lobby, and cafeteria as well as update and upgrade of our athletic accomplishments. The proceeds accumulated from this program will be utilized by the athletic department for use by our various athletic programs. The unused trophy cases will be relocated to other areas of the building to recognize other accomplishments such as music, band, and other programs that our school prides itself on. Finally, this program will continue to allow our athletic department to honor our past while bettering our future. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Athletic Director Blake England. The first two trophies that are open for bidding are: The 1971 Boys Golf NOL Champions The 1974 Boys Golf NOL Champions If you wish to submit a bid for either or both of these trophies, please use the link below. The deadline for the bidding is Wednesday, July 31st. Ram Pride! Link for placing bids: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XBEnEbONbZQ0iRNuF7_VxtAABGaSyIpejJ04SSn-1ds/edit

Ram and Lady Ram athletic community, In our continued effort to remain transparent with our community about any proposed or planned changes to our athletic facilities, especially those that would affect any of our youth sport programs, the USHS athletic department would like to provide an update on some upcoming planned modifications to our existing athletic facilities. This summer, we will begin making modifications and renovations to our current varsity softball field. These modifications will include, new fencing, tiling, expansion of the current dugouts, and improvements to the existing backstop among other changes. We believe these modifications are necessary in order to ensure our varsity softball student-athletes have a safe, equitable, and improved facility to compete on. It is also important to note that all of these modifications, with the exception of the fencing to address safety concerns, are all being privately donated and will not be an additional cost to the district. Upon completion of these improvements, the USHS varsity softball program will continue to have exclusive usage of the field and the associated facilities during their season. The Upper Sandusky Youth Baseball organization will have access to the facilities upon completion of the varsity softball season. We believe this continued arrangement will benefit both our varsity and youth programs as we continue to share facilities and resources in order to ensure all of our student-athletes have access and enjoy their experiences with sports. The USHS athletic department wants to sincerely thank our community for your continued support of all of our athletic programs. Ram Pride!

According to PowerSchool, we should be good to go with Parent Portal access. They said parental usernames and/or passwords should NOT change or be wiped during the "End of Year" process (when the server goes from 2023-2024 to 2024-2025). So, if a parent(s) cannot log in, the first thing to do is click the "Forgot Password" link and request a new password. That password reset email can take up to 10 minutes to be delivered. This process is always much easier when using a traditional desktop or laptop computer versus a smartphone. Parents/students should click on the "State Assessments" tab on the left menu within the parent portal to view state test results. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to resolve the login issue.

Dear Ram and Lady Ram Athletics Community, The USHS athletic department and the Upper Sandusky Youth Soccer Board would like to take a moment to share a unified message to address some of the issues that have been the topic of discussion over the past week. First, WE would like to offer an apology for any misunderstanding or miscommunication that occurred. That was not intentional in any way and WE will work to improve this in the future. Next, WE want to thank everyone who shared their thoughts and opinions in a positive and meaningful manner. Your input, when shared responsibly, helps us guide our decisions about the direction of our sports programs. Secondly, although the conversations haven’t been productive or beneficial at times, WE are encouraged by the support shown by our community for our sports programs. Athletics are meant to be a positive and unifying force and WE are determined to rally our community through athletics. Ultimately, it’s our kids that WE are focused on and that is why WE believe this message is important. At this time, the discussion about a new softball facility has been moved to a long-term option that will continue to be investigated and communicated with the school district. Further discussions about this project will include transparent communication with all parties involved in a way that will ensure everyone has a voice in order to continue to provide athletic opportunities for all of our youth. Moving forward, WE are committed to working together for the benefit of our youth in all capacities. This includes sharing resources and facilities in order to make the athletic experiences of our youth the best it can be. But most importantly, WE want to establish open, honest, and positive communication with our community. WE also want to encourage our community members to do the same. If you have any questions or concerns about athletic programs, please contact the appropriate sources. Social media should be a place to celebrate the accomplishments of our athletic programs and not the place to raise concerns or spread negativity. It doesn’t help solve anything. Thank you all again for your continued support of our athletic programs and for helping us continue to focus on giving our kids the best that we can. WE are all Rams and WE are all committed to the same goal. RAM PRIDE! Sincerely, Blake England, USHS Athletic Director Ian McCreary, USYS Board President Johnathon Searfoss, USHS Varsity Boys Soccer Coach Ty Calvin, USHS Varsity Girls Soccer Coach Scott Morris, USHS Varsity Softball Coach
