Dear Parent/Guardian,
This letter is to communicate to you the newly created Ohio Law that requires schools to provide instruction on abuse prevention to students in grades K-6 on a yearly basis. A link to the Department of Education and Workforce website with further information on these requirements is provided below.
For grades K-6, USEVS will fulfill this requirement with a video series from the
“Fight Child Abuse” program, which is an approved curriculum on the Ohio Department
of Education and Workforce website.
The video series for grades K-3 discusses safe touch/unsafe touch, strangers, asking
for help, and how to recognize if a friend needs help. The video series for grades 4-6 discusses secrets, smart choices online, bullying, and cyberbullying.
USEVS asks parents to please preview the curriculum videos at the link below. If after previewing the videos, you decide you do not want your child participating in the instruction on child abuse prevention, please detach the below slip, sign and return to your child’s classroom teacher by May 15th. You will also be receiving a paper copy of this letter via your child today, Friday, May 10th.

USHS ATHLETIC UPDATE
Due to a wet field and the threat of severe weather later this evening, the Varsity and JV Baseball games against Tiffin Columbian have been cancelled for tonight. A makeup date is being discussed. Sorry for the late notice.

Just a friendly reminder during drop off and pick up please do not block the entrances or exits to the driveway at Union/Middle School. One option is to have your child meet you in the overflow parking lot by the practice football field. The student follows the sidewalk to the crosswalk between the parking lot and the bus garage. Students would cross Finley street to the overflow parking.
Thank you for your help,
