Well, our streak of consecutive games played during spring sports has come to an end today as we have decided to CANCEL the following events:
- Varsity Baseball @ Wynford (rescheduled for 5/13)
- Varsity Softball @ Wynford (rescheduled for 5/5)
- JV Baseball v. Wynford (rescheduled for 5/13)
(We have not made the call on Varsity Boys Tennis but will have an update soon)

Dear RAM Family,
It is with great sadness that I must inform you about a loss to our school family. Mrs. Deb Berger, a Spanish teacher at Upper Sandusky High School has lost her brave battle with cancer. Funeral arrangements will be handled through Lucas Batton Funeral home in Upper Sandusky and we have counselors and clergy on hand at the High School in case any students or staff need support in the coming days. We express our sincere condolences to the family, friends, coworkers and students of Mrs. Berger. She was a valued member of our staff and community. She led her life with strong family values and a deep faith. She will be missed.

Congratulations to the students that received Positive Office Referrals in April. These students exemplified one of our Portrait of a Ram characteristics (Adaptability, Critical Thinking, Integrity, Communicate Effectively, Responsibility). Colin D showed Integrity by jumping up and getting the door for someone on crutches. Avery F showed Responsibility by helping to clean the room regularly following labs with her fellow students.

The end of the school year is approaching quickly! Please remember to pick your students medication up from school by May 22nd at 3pm.

USHS ATHLETIC EVENTS UPDATE

Due to tomorrow night's National Honor Society induction ceremony, tomorrow's athletic event start times have been changed. Here are the changes:

- Varsity Softball @ Bucyrus (rescheduled from 3/31) will start around 4:00 PM.
- Varsity Baseball @ Colonel Crawford (completion of tonight's suspended game) will start around 4:15 PM.

Please note these start times are dependent on arrival time and warm-up time so they could flex. Please help spread the word about these changes.

Attention 2026-2027 Kindergarten Parents

Kindergarten Screening is coming up next Thursday, April 30th and Friday, May 1st. If you have not completed or created a Final Forms account it does need to be completed before coming to your child’s screening appointment. Your documents are also required prior to your child being screened. You can download documents to Final Forms, or email the documents to linda_s@usevs.org.

RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE ISSUANCE OF NOTICE TO PUBLIC

BE IT RESOLVED by the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District Board of Education that the Treasurer issue the following notice, on behalf of the Board, to the public in the same manner in which special meetings of the Board are publicized: Pursuant to Ohio Revised Code Section 3307.353, the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District Board of Education gives notice that Pamela Karg is or will be retired under the State Teachers Retirement System, effective June 1, 2026, and is seeking employment with this Board thereafter in the same position. The Board will hold a public hearing on July 20, 2026, at 6:00PM at the Upper Sandusky HS Library on the issue of the employee’s re-employment as a teacher.

Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT), also known as SUN Bucks, is a summer assistance program for children that began in Summer 2024. Summer EBT provides grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. Summer EBT benefits will either be loaded to a household’s Ohio Direction Card, on last year’s Summer EBT card, or to a benefit card sent in the mail in a plain white envelope addressed to each eligible child. Eligible Children will receive a one-time benefit of $120 that can be used to buy food during the summer months at grocery stores, farmers markets and other authorized retailers.
All children between the ages of 6 to 18 (must be at least 6 and no older than 18 on August 14, 2026) participating in one or more of the following assistance programs (on or after July 1, 2025) will receive Summer EBT automatically with no need to apply.

• Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
• Ohio Works First (OWF)
• Medicaid (if income meets USDA Income Eligibility Guidelines for current program year)
Children of any age enrolled in a school participating in the National School Lunch Program that are approved for free or reduced-price meals for school year 2025-2026 will also receive Summer EBT automatically with no need to apply. Free or Reduced-Price meal application can be submitted at any time. Applications approved before April 29, 2026 will automatically receive SEBT benefits. Summer is just around the corner! Erika Holloway is offering new and improved social-emotional workshops for kids this summer. All workshops will be held in Upper Sandusky, Ohio but are not limited to USEVS students. The exact location will be shared once the registration form is submitted.

This summer, the workshops will be hands-on and occur outdoors (weather permitting). Workshops include Kids Glow Yoga, Iced Coffee & Vision Boards, Nurturing Plants and Our Minds, Building Self-Esteem, Expressive Painting, and Nature Therapy. The goal of these workshops is to provide a safe space for kids to express themselves, boost self-esteem, and equip them with the tools they need to navigate challenges in both school and their personal lives.
