CONGRATULATIONS to a number of our Lady Rams for earning All-League Honors in Girls Soccer. Senior Grace Walton and Sophomore Shiloh Shasteen were named 1st Team All-NCOSA and Junior Rylee McCreary earned 2nd Team Honors. Seniors Ellee Ham and Audrey Kinley, Sophomore Erica Ruhlen and Junior Emilee Ham were all named Honorable Mention as well. The USHS community is extremely proud of these ladies' athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how they represent our school and community off the pitch. Congratulations ladies on a stellar season and Go Lady Rams! RAM PRIDE!

CONGRATULATIONS to Seniors Kaitlin Bennett and Conner Beidelschies for being named the All-Heart Athletes of the Month for September. Both Kaitlin and Conner were nominated and voted on by their peers and community for the many great characteristics they display on and off the field. These two give everything they have to their team and their school and exemplify all of the attributes that make them the All-Heart Athletes of the Month and a huge part of Ram Nation. Here is a summary of what people had to say about Kaitlin and Conner: Kaitlin shows great enthusiasm on the volleyball court. She is an encouraging teammate and she is always lifting her teammates up. She is completely “others-focused” and if you’ve been Kaitlin’s teammate, she makes it evident that she has true belief in those around her. On top of being a great teammate, Kaitlin gives her all in every game and in every practice. She exemplifies what it’s like to be a great Senior role model for those who are younger than her. Kaitlin has been described as a “light” for the volleyball team because she is someone who takes pride in truly caring for those around her. Conner has shown responsibility by stepping into a leadership role on the soccer team. He has worked to create a better culture for the soccer team. As a Senior leader, Conner wasn’t going to stand for bullying and it’s harder to say something than it is just letting it happen. Leaders like Conner are needed in every sport in order to create a positive environment for those participating. Conner has done what it takes to have success off the field so his team could find success on the field. On top of being great teammates, Kaitlin and Conner are hard-workers in the classroom as well. Staff at USHS had selected them for the final round because they also demonstrate their good qualities at school. These two athletes are truly great selections for our first All-Heart Athlete of the Month award! Congratulations again to our All-Heart Athletes of the Month for September. Thank you, Kaitlin and Conner, for representing our community through school and through athletics in a great way. We appreciate your boldness to show HEART in all that you do! RAM PRIDE!

ATTENTION USHS FOOTBALL FANS On Friday, October 18th, the varsity football team will travel to Colonel Crawford. This game has been designated as a Pancreatic Cancer Awareness game by Colonel Crawford in memory of their former football coach Ryan Teglovic. They have invited us to participate by purchasing a T-shirt shown below to wear at the game. Orders are due by tomorrow at 3:00 PM and the shirts will be delivered on October 16th. IMPORTANT OHSAA TOURNAMENT INFORMATION The OHSAA postseason for a lot of our fall sports begins next week and we wanted to share some important information about these upcoming events: VOLLEYBALL The Lady Rams are the 6 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 2 District and will play 3 seed Liberty-Benton on Thursday, October 17th at 6:00 PM at Lexington High School. BOYS SOCCER The Rams are the 5 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 3 District and will play 3 seed Clear Fork on Thursday, October 17th at 6:00 PM at Clear Fork High School. GIRLS SOCCER The Lady Rams are the 4 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 2 District and will host 7 seed Galion on Wednesday, October 16th at 5:00 PM. All of these brackets can be found on the OHSAA website and all tickets for this event can be purchased online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets. The end of the first 9 weeks is Friday, October 25th and there will be NO SCHOOL for students, as this is scheduled as a teacher work day. Any questions, contact your child's school.

Parent/Teacher conferences will occur on Thurs., Nov. 7th from 3:20pm-7:40pm, and Fri., Nov. 8th from 8am-11am. There will be no schools for students on Fri., Nov. 8th. We will use our online scheduling portal, MyConferenceTime, to schedule ONLINE. The portal will open on Thurs., Oct. 17th and you can access using this URL: https://myconferencetime.com/usevs. If you cannot schedule online, please call your child's school and a secretary can schedule you over the phone. ATTENTION USHS/USMS WINTER SPORT ATHLETES AND PARENTS Our annual winter sports informational meeting will take place on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 PM in the USHS gymnasium. We will be combining our JH and HS meetings again this year out of respect for your time. The general information meeting will begin at 7:00 PM followed by sport specific meetings with coaches. It is youth football recognition at tonight's Homecoming football game against Bucyrus. Any youth football player or JH football player who wears their jersey will get in free of charge. HE'S BACK! The USHS Athletic Department sends out a huge CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Brock Montgomery who won his second straight district golf championship with an impressive 1-over-par yesterday at Maumee Bay Golf Course. His score was three shots ahead of 2nd place and earned him back-to-back Division II Northwest Ohio District Golfer of the Year honors! Brock will compete at the state's highest competition level one more time in his storied career next Sunday and Monday at Firestone Country Club in Akron. Tee time for Sunday is 10:10 AM. USHS Ticket Announcement: The USHS athletic department will be once again be offering HALF PRICE STUDENT tickets for sale tomorrow! These tickets will be for admission to Friday night's Homecoming football game against Bucyrus. The price of these tickets will be $3.00 ($7.00 at the gate). Students can go to their school's office to purchase these tickets and show them at the gate on Friday. With the price of admission going up, we wanted to offer this option to allow students to come out and support our Rams. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic department. RAM PRIDE!

ATHLETIC CHANGES/REMINDERS There has been a slight change to tonight's varsity boys and girls soccer matches against Van Buren. The varsity girls will play at 5:00 PM with the varsity boys playing at 7:00 PM. There will be a 1/2 JV boys match following the completion of the varsity boys contest. All contests will be on the stadium field. The original schedule had the varsity boys playing first with the girls to follow. Tonight's game is also youth recognition night so all USYS soccer players will be admitted free of charge if they are wearing their uniform. Also, the JH volleyball teams will play in the Buckeye Central High School gymnasium tonight instead of the JH gym. Please spread the word. Finally, tonight's high school volleyball game will be a Freshman/JV/Varsity triple header beginning at 5:00 PM. This game will also be our Volley for the Cure game and there will be raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and other recognition. Come out and support our Lady Rams and a great cause all at once. GOOD LUCK tomorrow to Brock Montgomery who will be competing in the DII Boys Golf District Championships at Maumee Bay State Park. Brock will tee off at approximately 9:30 AM on Hole 10. This is a great opportunity for our kids to travel and experience volleyball in a unique setting . For those planning on attending this match, please read the following information. USHS ATHLETIC CHANGE Unfortunately due to unfavorable field conditions on the stadium field, tonight's Varsity Boys Soccer match against Ontario will be played on the soccer field. We understand this is not ideal but with the circumstances being what they are, the options were limited. There will be NO ADMISSION charge tonight and we are hoping the stadium field will be ready to go for Thursday's double header. Thanks for your understanding. RAM PRIDE!

GOOD CAUSE OPPORTUNITIES The USHS Varsity Boys and Girls Soccer Teams will be raising money to assist cancer patients and their families. These "Kick For a Cure" games will take place on Thursday, October 10th at the USHS stadium. This year's proceeds will go to Ron Hall and his family so please come out and support this awesome cause. Please refer to the attached flier for all of the details on this event. Additionally, the USHS Varsity Volleyball team will also be hosting a "Volley For a Cure" Game this Thursday night against Mohawk. There will be raffle baskets, a 50/50 drawing, and the team will be honoring those who have breast cancer or have lost someone to cancer prior to the game. Stop out and support these great causes and show your support for our USHS student athletes in the process. RAM PRIDE!

ATTENTION Prospira (formerly Bridgestone) will be hosting their annual Electronics Recycling Drive on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. They are also offering free document shredding for the community this year. Please refer to the attached flier for more details. RAM PRIDE!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Varsity Rams Cross Country team who were champions of the Old Fort Cross Country Invite on Saturday. The Rams upended Seneca East and Mohawk on their way to the title. The boys were paced by Senior Abe Baldwin who placed 11th (18:17.2) out of the over 167 athlete field. This win is the first for the boys this season but continues the streak of top three finishes for either team at six straight meets.The Varsity Girls Cross Country team also had a good day and finished in 3rd place as a team and were paced by Senior Hope Morris who finished 9th (20:45) and Sophomore Jocelyn Leightey who was11th (21:14). Both teams will be back in action on Saturday at the Marion Harding Invite. RAM PRIDE!

ATTENTION: The USHS Athletic Department is excited and proud to announce a very special recognition for our amazing student-athletes and we are giving Ram Nation the opportunity to share your thoughts and opinions as well. The All-Heart Athlete of the Month is a National Honor Society project that one of our student-athletes has asked to coordinate and it is something that we believe is a great way to show some love and recognition for our student-athletes and what they do on and off the field of play. The way this will work is that every month, students at USHS will get the chance to nominate a student-athlete that they feel embodies all of the elements of the AHAOTM. Those elements include Hard work, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Responsibility, and Thoughtfulness. These elements are further described in the documents tab of our district website for your reference. Once the students have made their nominations, the field is narrowed down to the top three by vote of the staff at USHS. These top three male and female athletes are then sent to you, Ram Nation, for your vote. You can vote for one male and female student-athletes using the Google Form attached to this post. The final tally will result in who is crowned the All-Heart Athlete of the Month. If you have any questions about this process please contact the USHS Athletic Department and we will be happy to assist you.
