The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) would like to invite you to participate in a short, 25 question survey about your involvement in your student’s education. Research suggests that parental involvement is a key predictor of positive educational outcomes. You may be eligible to participate if your child has an IEP and receives special education services. The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across Ohio. This means that the last 2 weeks of school
students must have a way to pay for purchases in cafeteria without charging.

Hannah’s House will be offering Active Parenting Tweens/Teens program on an as needed basis. When there are 5 participants signed up for the program it will be scheduled to begin. There will be a $10 per class fee for this 6-class session. Once the 6 classes are completed and paid for the participants will receive a certificate of completion.
A comprehensive parenting program for parents of teens and ’tweens. This popular Active Parenting of Teens program addresses issues of this complicated day and age. Here is a class that will give parents confidence and courage to meet the challenges (and savor the joys) of their children’s teen years.
The program includes the essential Active Parenting model that has benefited millions of parents, plus:
• teens & technology (the Internet, social networking sites, etc.)
• the latest in teen drug use prevention (including prescription drugs)
• special stepfamily considerations

Kindergartners are studying the parts of plants and today we tried vegetables that represented each part! The kids were surprised that carrots are the “root” of the plant!

Right to Read Fun!
Triple Digit pledge forms are due tomorrow, March 22nd. Even if you only have one pledge, your child will get to pitch the ball on Thursday. Flat donations are accepted as well if you don't know how fast your child will throw the ball! Thanks for supporting Union Elementary!
