Congratulations to USHS runners Ashton Vent and Evan Hinesman on qualifying for the state cross country meet. Ashton finished 3rd (16:21) and Evan finished 14th (16:42) at the regional meet at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin on Saturday.
The OHSAA Division II Boys Cross Country Championship will be held on Saturday, November 5th, 1:00 p.m. at Fortress Obetz and Memorial Park. Tickets will only be available online at ohass.org/tickets. No cash will be accepted at the gate.

USHS will be hosting a winter sports parent meeting on Monday, October
24, 7:00 p.m. in the USHS gym. Parents of all winter sport athletes are
expected to attend. There will be a general meeting in the USHS gym
beginning at 7:00 p.m. followed by the individual sport meetings for
basketball, cheerleading, swimming and wrestling.
A reminder that all parents and students must complete their athletic forms
online with Final Forms as well as have a current athletic physical on file in
order for a student to be able to practice. The Final Forms link is available
on the school website.

USHS FFA soil teams both placed in the Top 10 in Ohio during competition last Saturday. The Urban Team of Bryn Cundiff, Madison Hart, Eli Kidwell, and Olivia Griswold placed 5th overall with Bryn placing 6th overall as an individual. This team now qualifies for national competition in Oklahoma in May! This is quite an honor for these students! The Ag Team of Leah Herring, Jameson Reile, Max Traxler, and Wrehn Thompson placed 8th overall with Leah placing 12th overall as an individual. They did not qualify for national competition but it is still an honor to be in the top 10 in Ohio. There were only 4 schools who had both teams in the top 10, and we were one of them.
The USHS girls soccer team defeated Ada 5-1 to advance to the sectional finals vs. Van Buren on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Van Buren High School.

The USHS volleyball team defeated Bucyrus 3-0 to advance to the sectional finals vs. Huron on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at Huron High School.

The USHS boys cross country team won the N10 team championship on Saturday by narrowly defeating rival Seneca East 62-63. The USHS girls team finished in 2nd place behind league champion Colonel Crawford.

USHS golfer Liv Gier placed 23rd in the OHSAA Division II State Golf Tournament this past weekend. Liv shot a two-day score of 171 on the OSU Gray Course.

USHS enjoyed an assembly with a great message of perseverance and hard work to overcome obstacles as well as how to fight peer pressure to do things you know you shouldn’t. Austin Lanier of Texas shared his story of struggles with his mental health, drug addiction and his road to recovery. He even entertained us with some of his very own hiphop music!!

The Union Parent Boosters are meeting tonight at Don Tomasso's restaurant in the side room. Meeting starts at 7:00pm. All K-5 parents are welcome and encouraged to attend!
Anyone interested in getting their car painted by the cheerleaders should come to the parking lot by the softball fields Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 or Thursday from 6:30-7:30. Donations will be accepted and given to local charities.
