SPECIAL EVENTS UPCOMING
The USHS Athletic Department would like to remind Ram Nation of two very special events coming up this week that you don't want to miss. First, tonight's home boys basketball game against Colonel Crawford will be our Teacher/Staff Appreciation Night where we will be recognizing and honoring our fantastic staff members of USEVS for their dedication to our student-athletes. We will also be recognizing a few select teachers who our special to our Senior student-athletes. All teachers and staff are admitted free tonight. Just bring your badge and come let us recognize you. This event will take place at the conclusion of the JV contest. Hope to see you there.
Additionally, at tomorrow night's (1/30) home girls basketball game against Seneca East, we will be recognizing and honoring our 1996 Lady Rams Basketball State Runner-Up team. There will be a small reception and meet and greet in the USHS cafeteria starting around 5:30 PM with the recognition ceremony starting at the conclusion of the JV game. Several of our Lady Ram alumni and coaches from that memorable team will be back so make sure you stop on by "The Barn" tomorrow night to help us recognize the 30th anniversary of that amazing run. Tell your friends.

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to several Ram bowlers who earned All-Conference Honors this season. In only their second year of existence, the Rams also had five student-athletes recognized for their season efforts. Freshman Bryson Stoneburner (182.0 average) earned 1st Team All-N10 honors. Junior Rowen Kennedy (176.4) and Sophomore Clayton Bowen (170.6) earned 2nd Team All-N10 honors while Senior Afton Green (169.7) and Sophomore Wyatt Barrett (166.7) both earned Honorable Mention honors. Great acknowledgement on a great season for these gentlemen. Ram Nation is proud of these accomplishments but even more proud of how these gentlemen represent our community outside of the alley. Congratulations again.

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to several Lady Ram bowlers who earned All-Conference Honors this season. In only their second year of existence, the Lady Rams had five student-athletes recognized for their season efforts. Freshman Melanie Bowen (162.3 average) and Sophomores Brynn Routzahn (160.2), Lily Swartz (151.7), and Michaelynn Hill (148.6) all earned 1st Team All-N10 honors while Senior Aleah McCann (133.4) earned Honorable Mention honors. Coach Paul Mates was also named the Co-Coach of the Year in the N10 this season. What a truly amazing season for these ladies. Ram Nation is so incredibly proud of these accomplishments but even more proud of how these ladies represent our community outside of the alley. Congratulations again.

Despite Mother Nature's ongoing temper tantrum, we will be moving forward with some athletic events today. Here is what is happening today:

- Freshman Boys Basketball @ Bluffton (not weather related) (will not be rescheduled)
STILL SCHEDULED
- JH Wrestling @ N10 Championships (@ SE)
- Varsity Swimming @ River Valley (Marion YMCA)

Upper Sandusky schools will be starting on a two hour delay Wednesday, January 28, 2026. We will reevaluate road conditions and temperatures in the morning.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026 Upper Sandusky Schools will be closed due to the dangerous windchills and potential for drifting snow. I also want to reassure you that Upper Sandusky has not used all of our calamity days. Please stay warm and safe.
More Congratulations are due to our USHS Musical students! This time to our High School instrumentalists that recently participated in the OMEA District 2 Honor's Festival: Emily Weatherbee, flute; Logan Ruth, percussion; and Kate Thiel, French Horn. It just goes to show that no matter how cold it may be outside, music certainly warms the heart.
HISTORY MADE
In only their second year of existence, the USHS Varsity Girls Bowling team are N10 LEAGUE CHAMPIONS! In the inaugural N10 Championships held at Bowlero Lanes in Fostoria on Saturday, the Lady Rams held off Seneca East (3,275 to 3,046) to claim the team's (and league's) first ever N10 title. The Lady Rams were a perfect 8-0 in conference play (12-0 overall) and capped off their historic season with a league championship. The ladies were led by Freshman Melanie Bowen who bowled a 539 three game series to finish 2nd overall individually and Senior Olivia Griswold who bowled a 524 three game series to finish 3rd overall individually. Rounding out the top 8 performances was Sophomore Michaelynn Hill who bowled a 449 three game series and finished 8th individually. What a historic season for the Lady Rams and Coach Mates. Congratulations again ladies.
The Rams finished the N10 Tournament in 4th place and finished their regular season at 4-4 in conference play. Leading the way for the Rams was Junior Rowen Kennedy who bowled a 540 three game series to finish 8th individually.
Both teams will be back in action next Monday, February 2nd against New Riegel.

- Varsity Bowling v. Elgin
- Freshman Boys Basketball v. Miller City

Due to the forecast winter storm all Upper Sandusky Exempted Village Schools facilities and buildings will close at 5 PM on Saturday, January 24th and remain closed for the duration of the snow event.

DON'T FORGET that at tonight's Boys Basketball game against Carey, the quartet "A Choir'd Taste" out of Mansfield, will be performing our National Anthem prior to the start of the varsity game. One of the quartet members, is Jim Frye, who is one of the technology directors at USEVS. You don't want to miss this awesome group perform our awesome Anthem tonight.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to the following vocal music students: Jackson Moore, Ethan Shoemaker & Hope Korte! They each earned a SUPERIOR rating at last weekends Solo & Ensemble Contest. A superior means that not only do they have great singing voices, but also a high level of technical ability to read and interpret music and performance skills. It is the highest rating you can recieve! CONGRATULATIONS to our singing RAMS!
Have you seen the posts about a fantastic organization called Sleep in Heavenly Peace on local community pages? If not, they are a reputable organization that builds and provides beds for youth in need.
We feel that every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep and in that spirit, we have two National Honor Society students, Derek Barr and Lyman Starner who are raising money to pay for one or more beds to be built.
If you would like to donate, drop off or send your donations to the HS and we will be sure to get them to these young men. Thank you!

Our first athletic change for this weekend has happened. In an attempt to beat any early snow accumulations, tomorrow night's JV/Varsity Boys Basketball game at Riverdale has been moved to a 3:30 PM start (JV tip). Please adjust your calendars appropriately and help spread the word.
All other Saturday events are still ON as planned. This includes:
- Varsity Swimming @ NCOSL Championshipst (CCHS)
- Varsity Bowling at N10 Championships (Bowlero Lanes)
- Varsity Wrestling @ VB Invite
