CONGRATULATIONS to Junior Madison Hart and Sophomore Bryce Weyand for being named the All-Heart Athletes of the Month for March. Both Madison and Bryce were nominated and voted on by their peers and community for the many great characteristics they display on and off the field of play. These two give everything they have to their team and their school and exemplify all of the attributes that make them the All-Heart Athletes of the Month and an important part of Ram Nation. Here is a summary of what people had to say about Madison and Bryce:
Madison Hart is a volleyball and softball athlete at USHS. There is no specific HEART trait that Madison exemplifies; rather, she lives out every part of HEART. Madison works hard all the time. There is NOTHING that she does half-heartedly. Madison has great enthusiasm for those around her, and she always shows excitement and love for her teammates. She is ambitious, doing all that it takes to win for her team. She is responsible, knowing her ROLE within her team: As a natural born leader, Madison always impacts others by her example. She ALWAYS has her teammates on her heart before herself. She authentically loves those around her and has a gift for unifying her teammates. While Madison is greatly skilled and has accomplished many feats as an athlete, her best feature isn’t her talent, rather, it is her HEART for others that sets her apart.
Bryce Weyand is a cross country and track athlete at USHS. Bryce is an extremely kind athlete, and he not only encourages his teammates to achieve, but he has also worked as an athlete to improve as well. During the cross country season, Bryce dropped more than two minutes from his previous season PR. While his season started with great success, Bryce’s season was ended by an injury. With a resilient spirit, Bryce didn’t let it keep him down, but instead, he worked over the winter to regain his strength for the track season. Bryce shows ambition and hard work, but it’s his cheerful spirit that impacts others the most. He is overall fun and loving towards everyone, and he always celebrates the success of everyone around him over his own success. Bryce is humble within his endeavors to succeed, and he is always more focused on his teammates rather than his own efforts.
Bryce and Madison are both well-rounded individuals, taking on many different extracurricular activities, and performing well in the classroom as well. It isn’t just in their athletics that they exemplify HEART, but everywhere they go, they impact those around them.
Congratulations, Madison and Bryce, for being selected for the March ALL-Heart athletes of the month. We thank you for inspiring those around you, and being positive influences in our classrooms and in athletics. We thank you for representing USHS in a positive manner and being wonderful influences to those around you.

ATTENTION
Ram Nation. The OHSAA has designated April 6th-12th as Spring Sports Officials Appreciation Week and USHS would like to send out a very appreciative THANK YOU to all of our spring sport officials out there. Every year, these individuals attend clinics, participate in rules meetings and take tests in preparation for the season. During the season, these dedicated men and women take time away from their personal and work schedules and their families to provide our student-athletes the opportunity to play the games they love and contribute to the overall experience our student-athletes receive while participating in educational athletics. So, if you know an official or if you attend a spring sporting event, please take time to thank him/her for their time and effort in allowing our student-athletes to participate in interscholastic athletics.

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to our Varsity Boys Track & Field team who were champions of the Carey Blue Devil Relays this past Saturday. Despite the less than ideal conditions, the Rams (72 points) were able to hold off the Riverdale Falcons (68 points) for first place in the eight team field. Great way to start the season off gentlemen.
The Varsity Girls Track & Field team also fared well on Saturday finishing as tournament runners-up with 80 points behind only Riverdale (91 points). Great effort by our Lady Rams. Both teams are back in action today at Seneca East.

ATTENTION:
The sixth installment of the "All Heart Athlete of the Month" voting is now open to Ram Nation. The USHS Athletic Department is once again excited and proud to promote this very special recognition for our amazing student-athletes. The All-Heart Athlete of the Month is a great way to show some love and recognition for our student-athletes and what they do on and off the field of play. The way this will work is that every month, students at USHS will get the chance to nominate a student-athlete that they feel embodies all of the elements of the AHAOTM. Those elements include Hard work, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Responsibility, and Thoughtfulness. These elements are further described in the documents tab of our district website for your reference. Once the students have made their nominations, the field is narrowed down to the top three by vote of the staff at USHS. These top three male and female athletes are then sent to you, Ram Nation, for your vote. You can vote for one male and female student-athletes using the Google Form attached to this post. The final tally will result in who is crowned the All-Heart Athlete of the Month. If you have any questions about this process please contact the USHS Athletic Department and we will be happy to assist you. The voting will end on Sunday, March 30th at midnight so please get your votes in by that deadline. Thanks in advance for your participation in this special recognition.
