Back to School Vaccines: Please see the attached flyer from the Wyandot County Public Health department on updating vaccinations for the 2023-24 school year. This is for next years Kindergarten, 7th grade and 12th grade students.

Last night the USMS bands & choirs performed their Winter Concert. Mr. Treadway gave us a history lesson on the Monitor and Merrimack, before the 8th grade performance of "Ironclads" by William Owens. Thank you, Mr. Treadway! Congratulations to all the performing students!

This past Friday and Saturday 22 USHS DECA students competed at the Ohio DECA State Career and Development Conference. At the conference USHS DECA was able to compete against over 100 other DECA chapters from across the state. USHS had 6 students qualify for finals where a top 5 finish in the team/series events and a top 4 finish in written events would advance to the National Competition in Orlando Florida. Congratulations to our finalists and our National Qualifiers. If you see them in the hallway I'm sure they would appreciate the congratulations. There is no school for students this Friday, March 17th! This is a teacher work day for the end of the 3rd nine weeks!

The Quiz Bowl Team went 7-2 at the State Tournament this weekend and finished in fourth place. We had a very good day and the tournament went smoothly. Our next competition is the Small School National Tournament in Chicago in late April.

School breakfasts play a big role in helping kids get the nutrition they need to learn, grow, and be healthy.

Caleb Clary qualified for the OHSAA Division II State Wrestling Tournament by finishing 4th in the district tournament (132 pounds) on Saturday at Norwalk High School. Caleb will compete in the state tournament on Friday, March 10 at the Schottenstein Center at OSU. Congratulation to Caleb and good luck at state!

The Northern 10 Athletic Conference member schools will charge admission for all N10 high school and middle school weekday meets again this year. Admission for HS meets will be $6 for adults and senior citizens. Admission for MS meets will be $5. The USHS girls basketball team defeated Clear Fork 44-34 last night in the Division III district tournament. The Lady Rams will play Margaretta in the district finals on Saturday, February 25, 6:00 p.m. at Shelby High School (Bus-4:00 p.m.). The game will be livestreamed by OH.Report. Go Lady Rams!!

Update- Jenna actually qualified for 2 events at state- the 100 butterfly (broken school record) and the 100 backstroke (broken school record). Jenna is seeded 11th in the 100 butterfly at state- top 16 finalists earn All-Ohio recognition. Jenna is seeded 26th in the 100 backstroke at state. Go Rams!! Coach Richardson

USHS swimmer Jenna Wenger finished 3rd in the 100 Butterfly at the Division II district meet on Friday at BGSU in an outstanding time of 58.87 seconds to earn her second consecutive trip to the state. Jenna will compete in the OHSAA Division II state meet which begins on Thursday, February 23, 3:00 p.m. at the Canton Branin Natatorium. The USHS girls basketball team defeated Willard 47-29 on Saturday to win back to back sectional titles. The Lady Rams now advance to the district semi-finals vs. Clear Fork on Thursday, February 23, 6:00 p.m. at Shelby High School (Bus-4:00 p.m.) USHS wrestler Abe Baldwin won his second consecutive N10 wrestling championship on Saturday in the 106 weight class. The Rams will now compete as a team in the district tournament on Saturday, February 25, 9:30 a.m. at Clyde High School. The USHS boys basketball team will play Elida in the sectional tournament on Wednesday, February 22, 7:30 p.m. at Lima Senior High School. There will be a $5.00 parking fee for all fans attending the game. Tickets for all OHSAA tournament events must be purchased online at ohsaa.org/tickets. No cash will be accepted at the gate. The USHS Quiz Bowl team will be hosting the State Small School Quiz Bowl tournament on March 11, 2023. We started hosting this last year and had a really good turnout and already have more teams signed up this year. We would like to invite any teachers to come out and watch our kids as we prep for our second consecutive trip to nationals in April.

Tickets for all OHSAA tournament events, including basketball, swimming and wrestling must be purchased online at ohsaa.org/tickets. No cash will be accepted at the gate.

Upper Sandusky will be having open community pickleball at Union Middle School gym from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays in March and April. There will be a $2 fee per session to cover the costs of equipment needed. This is open to adults who want to play a few days a week.
