STATE BOUND AGAIN

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Senior Ram wrestler Ethan L. who once again will be making the trip down to the Schottenstein Center in Columbus for the OHSAA DII State Wrestling Championships this weekend. The Senior standout and one of USHS's best wrestlers, went 2-0 on the first day of competition at the DII District Tournament on Friday at Norwalk High School and then fought through tough competition on Saturday by finishing fourth to secure his second straight trip to the State Championships. Ethan will wrestle for his spot on the podium on Friday afternoon. What a great way to cap off a stellar career at USHS. Congratulations Ethan, Ram Nation is rooting for you.

Sophomore wrestler Braylon S. also had a strong performance at the District Championships by making it to Saturday but falling just short of a state bid. Great job Braylon.

The USHS Athletic Department would like to send a very big CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK to two of our Ram wrestlers. Senior Ethan L. was champion (157 lbs) of the DII Sectional tournament for the second year in a row last weekend at Galion and Sophomore Braylon S. was fourth (120 lbs). Both Ethan and Braylon have returned to the DII District Championships hosted by Norwalk High School tomorrow evening with wrestling beginning at 4:00 PM. The USHS Athletic Department would also like to send a very special CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Josh H. who, apart from earning First Team All-N10 honors, also earned DIV District 6 Honorable Mention honors this past week. The three sport standout for the Rams averaged 13.1 points in 22 games this season and will look to lead the Rams into a deep postseason run starting tomorrow against Galion. Another extremely well-deserved honor for one of USHS's finest student-athletes. Ram Nation is proud of Josh's athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how he represents our community and school off the court. Congratulations again Josh.

SECTIONAL CHAMPS!

The Lady Rams Bowling team made history again yesterday by winning the school's first ever DII Sectional Championship at Bowlero Lanes in Fostoria! The Lady Rams faced some stiff competition and battled through some adversity but in the end, they were able to edge out Liberty-Benton for the Sectional crown: 3232 to 3173. The ladies were paced by Freshman Melanie Bowen who bowled a 536 three game series. The Lady Rams will now move on to the DII District Championships held at Interstate Lanes in Rossford on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:00 AM. The historical run continues for these ladies. Good luck next week as they aim for a State Tournament bid.

CONGRATULATIONS goes out to Senior Afton G. who qualified for the OHSAA DII District Bowling Tournament at yesterday's DII Sectional Tournament hosted by Bowlero Lanes in Fostoria. Afton bowled a 557 three game series to finish 15th individually and qualify for the District competition next Thursday, February 19th at Interstate Lanes in Rossford. The Rams finished 7th overall as a team which officially ended their season. Congratulations to Afton and Coach Carroll for this accomplishment. Ram Nation is proud of you. Good luck at Districts.

The spring sports season is quickly approaching so we wanted to provide you with some important information and reminders about the season.

Reminder that each individual sport will hold a parents meeting at a designated time and place that all prospective student-athletes and parents are highly encouraged to attend so you can get important information from the coaches about the upcoming season. Here is a list of the meeting dates/times/locations for your reference:

USHS Softball (Wednesday, February 11th, 7:00 PM @ USHS Library)
USHS Baseball (Monday, February 16th, 6:00 PM @ USHS Cafeteria)
USHS Boys Tennis (Thursday, March 5th, 6:30 PM @ Coach Frazee's room (314))
USHS Boys & Girls Track & Field (no in-person meeting, online video posted to Final Forms)
USMS Boys & Girls Track & Field (Monday, February 16th, 6:00 PM @ Union Auditorium)

Other important reminders:
- Parents/guardians, please make sure your child(ren) is signed up in Final Forms for the spring sport they are planning on playing.
- Please make sure your child(ren) has a valid physical on file with the USHS or USMS office.
- Please make sure you view the online spring sport information slideshow available on Final Forms (USHS and USMS). This is required in order to begin participation in spring sports. This online slideshow replaces the large in-person meeting we have had in the past.
