CONGRATULATIONS to Seniors Lea Margison and David Gibson for being named the All-Heart Athletes of the Month for January. Both Lea and David were nominated and voted on by their peers and community for the many great characteristics they display on and off the field of play. These two give everything they have to their team and their school and exemplify all of the attributes that make them the All-Heart Athletes of the Month and an important part of Ram Nation. Here is a summary of what people had to say about Lea and David: Lea is a fun person to be around, whether in the classroom or cheering beside her on the sidelines. She has a heart full of passion for her sport, but her best trait is her compassion for those around her. She is full of energy, and if you’ve been around her, you know that there’s never a dull moment with Lea. She cheers EVERYONE on, not just the basketball or football team. She truly cares about every individual she encounters, and she shines light to those around her. Lea shows nothing short of great enthusiasm in ALL she does! David has worked hard on and off the court to improve and give his all in academics, athletics, and general life. He is a great teammate no matter the situation, and on the basketball court, he gives his all in every moment. He is someone who demonstrates resilience in every situation, leading by example in how to act when tough things happen. It has been inspiring to watch him grow throughout his life and step into the young man he has become! David has not shied away from the hard work that it takes to become the best version of himself. Congratulations, Lea and David, for being selected for the January ALL-Heart athletes of the month. We thank you for inspiring those around you, and being positive influences in our classrooms and in athletics. We thank you for representing USHS in a positive manner and being wonderful influences to those around you. RAM PRIDE!

ATTENTION: The fifth installment of the "All Heart Athlete of the Month" voting is now open to Ram Nation. The USHS Athletic Department is once again excited and proud to promote this very special recognition for our amazing student-athletes. The All-Heart Athlete of the Month is a great way to show some love and recognition for our student-athletes and what they do on and off the field of play. The way this will work is that every month, students at USHS will get the chance to nominate a student-athlete that they feel embodies all of the elements of the AHAOTM. Those elements include Hard work, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Responsibility, and Thoughtfulness. These elements are further described in the documents tab of our district website for your reference. Once the students have made their nominations, the field is narrowed down to the top three by vote of the staff at USHS. These top three male and female athletes are then sent to you, Ram Nation, for your vote. You can vote for one male and female student-athletes using the Google Form attached to this post. The final tally will result in who is crowned the All-Heart Athlete of the Month. If you have any questions about this process please contact the USHS Athletic Department and we will be happy to assist you. The voting will end on Sunday, February 2nd at midnight so please get your votes in by that deadline. Thanks in advance for your participation in this special recognition.
