REMINDER Sports physicals are being offered by Wyandot Memorial Hospital for any USMS/USHS student-athletes going into 7-12th grade. The dates for these physicals are June 2-4 from 3:00-6:00 PM BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. All physicals are $20 with ALL proceeds going directly to our Rams Athletic Boosters Club. 2025 USHS HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS DEADLINE APPROACHING Nominations for the USHS Hall of Fame Class of 2025 will be closing soon so if you know anyone deserving of induction, don't miss the deadline of May 24th. Candidates must be a graduate of USHS, a former coach at USHS, or an administrator at USHS and must have distinguished themselves through their athletic or administrative accomplishments, exploits, and achievements while at USHS and beyond. Please note that a nomination does not mean induction but all nominations will be kept on file to be considered for future years. If you would like to nominate a candidate for induction, please complete the nomination form found in the attached link, or you can complete a paper copy of the nomination form at the high school athletic office or print the form off of the USEVS District page (under the Athletics/Documents tab). The 2025 USHS Hall of Fame class will be formally inducted at the home varsity football game on Friday, September 5th. USHS TOURNAMENT UPDATE The Varsity Lady Rams DIV Softball Sectional Final game at Clear Fork last night was suspended due to heavy rain. Per OHSAA rules, this game will be continued and completed today (5/14) from where it left off. Game time is 5:00 PM at Clear Fork High School. All tickets purchased for this game yesterday WILL BE valid for entry today. With this change, the originally scheduled varsity softball game at Mohawk today will be rescheduled for a date TBD. BACK TO BACK TO BACK N10 CHAMPIONS!!!! A very special CONGRATULATIONS goes out to the USHS Varsity Rams Baseball team for clinching their third straight N10 Championship title with their win last night at Buckeye Central. The Rams finish their league schedule with an impressive 12-2 record. Congratulations to Coach Smalley and his staff as well for leading the team to this awesome accomplishment! Great job gentlemen. USHS ATHLETIC TOURNAMENT REMINDERS The Varsity Lady Ram Softball team will be in action tonight at Clear Fork High School in the DIV Sectional Final. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets OR they can be purchased at the gate (CASH ONLY). Ticket prices for this game are $8 Adult/$5 Student. Please note that if this game gets rained out, it will be rescheduled for tomorrow (May 14th) at 5:00 PM. Any ticket purchased online will be accepted for the reschedule date. The Varsity Rams Tennis team will be in action on Thursday, May 15th at Shelby High School in the DII District Championships. The tournament starts at 9:00 AM. CONGRATULATIONS to Juniors Ella Frombaugh and Josh Heilman for being named the All-Heart Athletes of the Month for April. Both Ella and Josh were nominated and voted on by their peers and community for the many great characteristics they display on and off the field of play. These two give everything they have to their team and their school and exemplify all of the attributes that make them the All-Heart Athletes of the Month and an important part of Ram Nation. Here is a summary of what people had to say about Ella and Josh: Ella is extremely hard-working in everything she does. As a pitcher for the Lady Rams, she works year-round to perfect her craft. While she is a great pitcher, she understands fully that she cannot win games without the defense behind her or the offense to back her up. Ella’s passion and ambition to win is evidenced in the way she plays, and anyone watching a Lady Ram softball game can see how she impacts the game from every angle. Josh has a huge role on the Rams baseball team--and he never fails to fill it. He is one of those players you never have to worry about to put in the work on and off the field. He is exceptional at his craft, being on numerous N10 leaderboards for his stats. Whatever sport he is in, whether baseball, football, or basketball, Josh never goes unrecognized by anyone. He is always a threat to the other team and is always filling a big role for the rams. As both of these pitchers finish out their seasons, we would like to recognize the fruits of their labor; we would like to take notice that their efforts in the off-season HAVE produced great results. It’s not just on the mound that these athletes succeed, but in everything they do, both Ella and Josh have a hunger for greatness that drives their discipline. “How you do anything is how you do everything.” (T Harv. Eker). Everything both of these athletes do is ABOVE and BEYOND the expectations. Ella and Josh are both well-rounded individuals, taking on many different extracurricular activities, and performing at a high standard in the classroom as well. It isn’t just in their athletics that they exemplify HEART, but everywhere they go, they impact those around them. Congratulations, Ella and Josh, for being selected for the March ALL-Heart athletes of the month. We thank you for inspiring those around you, and being positive influences in our classrooms and in athletics. OHSAA TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS The Lady Rams Softball team will travel to Clear Fork for an OHSAA Division IV Sectional Final game on Tuesday, May 13th. First pitch is at 5:00 PM. Tickets for this event are now available for purchase online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets. The Rams Tennis team will begin their postseason play on Thursday, May 15 at Shelby High School. Start time is TBD. Tickets for this event are not yet available for purchase online but will be on Monday at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets. The Rams and Lady Rams Track and Field teams will compete at the OHSAA DII District Championships on Thursday and Saturday, May 22 and 24 at Oak Harbor High School. Start time for field events will be 4:00 PM (May 22) and 10:30 AM (May 24). Tickets for this event are not yet available for purchase. ATTENTION: The seventh installment of the "All Heart Athlete of the Month" voting is now open to Ram Nation. The USHS Athletic Department is once again excited and proud to promote this very special recognition for our amazing student-athletes. The All-Heart Athlete of the Month is a great way to show some love and recognition for our student-athletes and what they do on and off the field of play. The way this will work is that every month, students at USHS will get the chance to nominate a student-athlete that they feel embodies all of the elements of the AHAOTM. Those elements include Hard work, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Responsibility, and Thoughtfulness. These elements are further described in the documents tab of our district website for your reference. Once the students have made their nominations, the field is narrowed down to the top three by vote of the staff at USHS. These top three male and female athletes are then sent to you, Ram Nation, for your vote. You can vote for one male and female student-athletes using the Google Form attached to this post. The final tally will result in who is crowned the All-Heart Athlete of the Month. If you have any questions about this process please contact the USHS Athletic Department and we will be happy to assist you.
