The USHS Lady Rams Cross Country team competed at the OHSAA DII Regional Championships this past Saturday at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin. The ladies finished the day with a 7th place team finish which was just outside the state qualification mark. The Lady Rams were paced by Sophomore Jocelyn Leightey who just missed an individual spot in the state championships with a 19th place finish (19:41) and Senior Hope Morris who finished 20th in her final high school race (19:51). What a spectacular season for the Runnin' Lady Rams! On the boys side, Senior Abe Baldwin competed in his final race of his high school tenure by finishing 50th (17:40) out of the 90+ person field. Congrats on a great season Abe! RAM PRIDE!

ATTENTION: The second installment of the "All Heart Athlete of the Month" voting is now open to Ram Nation. The USHS Athletic Department is once again excited and proud to announce this very special recognition for our amazing student-athletes. The All-Heart Athlete of the Month is a great way to show some love and recognition for our student-athletes and what they do on and off the field of play. The way this will work is that every month, students at USHS will get the chance to nominate a student-athlete that they feel embodies all of the elements of the AHAOTM. Those elements include Hard work, Enthusiasm, Ambition, Responsibility, and Thoughtfulness. These elements are further described in the documents tab of our district website for your reference. Once the students have made their nominations, the field is narrowed down to the top three by vote of the staff at USHS. These top three male and female athletes are then sent to you, Ram Nation, for your vote. You can vote for one male and female student-athletes using the Google Form attached to this post. The final tally will result in who is crowned the All-Heart Athlete of the Month. If you have any questions about this process please contact the USHS Athletic Department and we will be happy to assist you. The final HALF PRICE STUDENT ticket sale of the year will take place tomorrow. These tickets will be for admission to Friday night's regular season finale against Buckeye Central. The price of these tickets will be $3.00 ($7.00 at the gate) and can be purchased at the high school main office tomorrow from 8:00 AM-2:00 PM. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic department. Finally, we will be recognizing our USHS Cheer Clinic participants as well as our youth football camp participants at tomorrow night's game. Wear your cheer clinic shirt or your camp shirts and you will be admitted free of charge. Please enter the game through the pass gate in order to prevent congestion at the ticket gate. As we near the end of another terrific fall sports season at USHS, the athletic department would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to all of our event help and any individuals who have volunteered their time in any capacity to make our fall sports contests a success. CONGRATULATIONS to two of our Lady Rams for earning All-League Honors in Volleyball. Senior Addy Newman earned 2nd Team All-N10 honors while fellow Senior Kaitlin Bennett received Honorable Mention honors. The USHS community is extremely proud of Addy and Kaitlin's athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how they represent our school and community off the court. CONGRATULATIONS to the USHS Varsity Girls Cross Country team for qualifying for the OHSAA DII Regional Championships on Saturday at Galion's Amanns Park. The Runnin' Lady Rams finished 3rd in the field which qualifies them for the next round. The Lady Rams were paced by Senior Hope Morris who finished 5th individually (19:58), Sophomore Jocelyn Leightey who finished 12th individually (20:42) and Sophomore Shiloh Shasteen who was 15th (20:57). The Lady Rams awesome season continues Saturday at Hedges Boyer park in Tiffin. Race time starts at 12:45 PM. On the boys side, CONGRATULATIONS to Senior Abe Baldwin who qualified individually for the Regional Championships by finishing 14th (17:11). CONGRATULATIONS to our Lady Ram Varsity Soccer team who won their Sectional Final tournament game last night in front of a home crowd! The 1-0 victory over Galion secured the Lady Rams first ever Sectional title and punched their ticket to the District Semifinals where they will face-off against the top seeded Clear Fork Lady Colts. This District Semifinal game will be played on Wednesday, October 23rd at Clyde High School with a 5:00 PM start time. Last night's victory also earned Senior Ellee Ham her school record breaking 17th career shutout! Congrats to Ellee and the Lady Rams defense for assisting in this milestone. RAM PRIDE!

CONGRATULATIONS to a number of our Rams for earning All-League Honors in Boys Soccer. Senior Gabriel Randall earned 1st Team All-NCOSA honors while fellow Senior Conner Beidelschies earned 2nd Team honors. Sophomores Caleb Arter, Troy Hoffbauer, Jonathan Craig, and Freshman Deacon Burton all received Honorable Mention honors as well. The USHS community is extremely proud of these gentlemens' athletic accomplishments but even more proud of how they represent our school and community off the pitch. The USHS Athletic Department would like to recognize and send a very big CONGRATULATIONS to a very special student-athlete on an extremely rare accomplishment. Sophomore Shiloh Shasteen is the first student-athlete in modern USHS athletics history, to earn All-Conference 1st Team honors in two separate sports in the same sports season! Shiloh earned 1st Team All-NCOSA honors in soccer and earned 1st Team All-N10 honors by finishing 4th overall in last weekend's N10 Cross Country Championships. What's even more impressive is that Shiloh accomplished all of this while carrying a 4.0 GPA! This is truly an incredible accomplishment and the USHS community is extremely proud of Shiloh's efforts but even more proud of how she represents our school and community off the field of play. One final CONGRATULATIONS goes out to one of USHS' most decorated fall student-athletes. Senior Brock Montgomery capped off his illustrious high school career on Monday at the OHSAA DII Golf Championships hosted by Firestone CC in Akron. Brock's two day score of 150 (+6) was good enough for a 4th place finish and another All-Ohio performance! What a way to end a stellar career. Thank you Brock for four great years on the links and for representing USHS in such a positive way anywhere you competed. Well done! RAM PRIDE!

REMINDER ABOUT OHSAA TOURNAMENT INFORMATION The OHSAA postseason for a lot of our fall sports begins this week and we wanted to share some important information about these upcoming events: VOLLEYBALL: The Lady Rams are the 6 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 2 District and will play 3 seed Liberty-Benton on Thursday, October 17th at 6:00 PM at Lexington High School. BOYS SOCCER: The Rams are the 5 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 3 District and will play 3 seed Clear Fork on Thursday, October 17th at 6:00 PM at Clear Fork High School. GIRLS SOCCER: The Lady Rams are the 4 seed in the OHSAA DIV Northwest 2 District and will host 7 seed Galion on Wednesday, October 16th at 5:00 PM. All of these brackets can be found on the OHSAA website and all tickets for this event can be purchased online at https://www.ohsaa.org/tickets. REMINDER TO ALL USHS/USMS WINTER SPORT ATHLETES AND PARENTS Our annual winter sports informational meeting will take place on Monday, October 21st at 7:00 PM in the USHS gymnasium. We will be combining our JH and HS meetings again this year out of respect for your time. The general information meeting will begin at 7:00 PM followed by sport specific meetings with coaches. N10 CHAMPIONS! CONGRATULATIONS to the USHS Girls Cross Country team and Coach Arnold on their N10 Championship victory yesterday at Seneca East High School. The Lady Rams finished with 37 points well ahead of second place Buckeye Central (63). The Lady Rams were paced in their victory performance by Senior Hope Morris who was the top finisher in the race with a time of 19:48; Sophomore Jocelyn Leightey who was third overall (20:30); Sophomore Shiloh Shasteen was fourth overall (20:41) and Freshman Macie Clark was 16th overall (22:31). What a great cherry on top of a fantastic running season for the Lady Rams! The team will be back in action on Saturday at the District Championships at Galion's Amann Reservoir. This week was designated as Officials Appreciation Week by the OHSAA and the USHS Athletic Department would like to send a huge THANK YOU to ALL of our dedicated sports officials who have officiated one of our many sporting events. Every year these individuals take time away from their personal schedules and their families to provide our student-athletes the opportunity to play the games they love and contribute to the overall experience our student-athletes receive while participating in athletics.
