OPEN ENROLLMENT FOR THE 2025-2026 SCHOOL YEAR
The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District will be accepting applications for open-enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year between April 1, 2025 and May 31, 2025. There are two types of Open-Enrollment.
Inter-District Open Enrollment allows students in grades K - 12, who reside in another school district in Ohio, to enroll in Upper Sandusky Schools tuition-free, with proper documentation, if enrollment numbers allow. Applications are honored on a first come first serve basis, and depend on availability in the requested grade level. Once all our own students are accommodated, top priority is given to students (and their siblings) that have already been accepted for Open Enrollment, followed by new requests, in the order they are received. The strict deadline for applications is May 31, 2025. No late applications will be accepted. A new application is required every year.
Intra-district Open Enrollment allows students in grades K - 5 who live in our district to request to change schools within the district, if enrollment allows. Applications are honored on a first come first serve basis, and depend on availability in the requested class. Classes are first filled with those that live in the building’s district, then to those students (and their siblings) who have already been accepted for open enrollment to that building, followed by new requests, in the order they are received. A new application is required every year. The strict deadline for applications is May 31, 2025. No late applications will be accepted. A new application is required every year.
*Please note: If your DISTRICT OF RESIDENCE changes, or your CHOICE OF SCHOOL changes, fill out an open enrollment form to eliminate any confusion:
If your child is currently open-enrolled to a different school and you decide you would like your child to switch to your home district, you will need to fill out an open enrollment form to indicate your desire. For example, if you live in East district and your child is open-enrolled to Union, but you decide you would like him/her to attend your home district of East next year, fill out a form to indicate your wish to change schools back to your home district.
If you move from one district to another, whether you want to keep your child at the same district or switch them to your resident district, fill out a form to make sure everyone knows your school building of choice, and are aware of your address change. For example: You live in East district and your child is open-enrolled to South, but then you move into Union district and would like your child to continue attending South or if you want them to attend Union instead of South, fill out a form to indicate your choice.
The administrators meet early in June to go over class lists and availability. After they meet, you will receive a letter letting you know if your child was accepted for open enrollment.
Both Inter and Intra Open Enrollment forms will be available starting on April 1st at any of the buildings in our district. If you would like one mailed to you, call Linda Stansbery at 419-294-2306 to get on a mailing list. They will be mailed out on April 1, 2025.
