The Spirit of the Season

The best part of the holidays for me is spending time with family - just sharing, laughing and creating new memories. That is why school Christmas programs are also such an important part of the holiday season for me. These events bring families together and make new memories to be shared year after year. (Remember when . . . ?) The students are so excited to perform and share all their hard work. The costumes, decorations and the general anticipation all add to the holiday atmosphere. Watching all the children during the performances and seeing their happiness in their achievement and seeing the pride in the faces of parents, grandparents and other family members - it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside and brings such a smile to my face.
If you haven't been to a school Christmas program for a while, I encourage you to attend one! The High School puts on a lovely Winter Concert in the high school gym at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13. The Middle School has a band and choir concert on Monday, Dec. 14 from 7-8:30 p.m. in their gymnasium. If you want to watch younger students, South and Union Elementary Schools both have Holiday programs this year. If you don't want to fight the crowds, I would encourage you to attend the dress rehearsals (the earlier time) for both of those programs.
Union K-3 program at the middle school gym on Monday, Dec. 7 at 1:15 p.m. and 7 p.m.
South K-5 program at the middle school auditorium on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
