October 2017 Student-Athletes

The Upper Sandusky Rams Athletic Boosters would like to congratulate USHS students Brett and Madyson for being selected as their Student-Athletes of the Month for October.

Brett is a sophomore at USHS and currently plays golf. His coach, Graham Treadway, nominated him for the following reasons:

  • Brett is active in his church, helps with junior golfers at Mohawk Country Club and is involved in many community service projects.
  • He displays excellent leadership by being a team captain and acting like an assistant coach.  He is willing to give of his own time to instruct and encourage his fellow teammates.
  • Brett is kind, outgoing and encourages his fellow golfers. He is cool, calm and collected on the golf course.
  • He has a 3.8 GPA and tackles a rigorous schedule. He is in the top 20 of his class and displays an excellent work ethic.

Madyson is a senior at USHS and currently plays tennis. Her coach, Aaron Frazee, nominated her for the following reasons:

  • Madyson has served as a volunteer at Wyandot Memorial Hospital.
  • She has been the leader of the tennis team this year. Madyson leads by example for her teammates. She is usually the first one to practice and the last one to leave.
  • Madyson has been willing to do whatever it takes for the team to be successful, whether asked to play singles or doubles.
  • She works hard in the classroom and does her best in whatever she pursues. Madyson maintains a busy schedule juggling both school and tennis team responsibilities, while also working 25-30 hours a week at her job at McDonalds.

November 2017 Student-Athletes

November 2017 Student-Athletes

The Upper Sandusky Rams Athletic Boosters would like to congratulate USHS students Mitchell and Audrey for being selected as the Student-Athletes of the Month for November.

Mitchell is a senior at USHS and played football this fall. His coach, Chris Rodriguez, nominated him for the following reasons:

  • Mitchell has been involved with the Fantasy of Lights, visiting residents at Fairhaven and the Salvation Army Kettle Bell Drive.
  • He leads by example and is usually the first one to practice and the last one to leave.
  • Mitchell has a positive attitude on both the practice and game field. He is a self-starter and takes it upon himself to get the job done.
  • He is a dedicated student maintaining a 3.1 GPA in college prep classes.

Audrey is a junior at USHS and played soccer this fall. Her coach, Patrick Massara, nominated her for the following reasons:

  • Audrey has been involved as a Vacation Bible School teacher, youth soccer camp worker, REACH program teacher, Fantasy of Lights volunteer and with the Fairhaven visitation program.
  • She has displayed leadership ability as an FFA reporter, attended the 2017 FFA National Convention and served as the Kirby Bells 4-H President.
  • Audrey always does what is in the best interest of the team without questioning or complaining. She leads by action displaying courteous behavior and outstanding sportsmanship.
  • She strives for excellence in the classroom maintaining a 3.57 GPA during the first quarter while taking college prep classes.

December 2017 Student-Athletes

December 2017 Student-Athletes

The Upper Sandusky Rams Athletic Boosters would like to congratulate USHS students Harrison and Ellie for being selected as the Student-Athletes of the Month for December.

Harrison is a senior at USHS and currently plays basketball. His coach, Jeff Winslow, nominated him for the following reasons:

  • Harrison has been involved with Upward basketball evaluations and Fairhaven visitation.
  • He is a captain and leader on the varsity boys basketball team.
  • Harrison is always positive and respectful.
  • He received straight A’s during the second quarter of this school year.

Ellie, is a junior at USHS and currently is a basketball cheerleader. Her coach, Courtney Sebenoler, nominated her for the following reasons:

  • Ellie is involved as an Upward and Midget League cheer advisor while also volunteering weekly at Fairhaven.
  • She can always be counted on to get things done and will naturally get the underclassmen “pepped up” for practices and games.
  • Ellie has a natural attitude of “let’s work hard to get the job done.” She does not complain which helps the attitude of the rest of the team.
  • She receives all A’s while taking a rigorous class schedule including college classes.
